I love this door. I love where it leads.
It leads to my current home, my safe space.
And in 3 months and 3 weeks, this door will lead to the first home my fiancé and I will share together, as husband & wife.
Beyond this door is where I have been humbled like never before, put up my best fight against people pleasing, cried through the uncertainty of the future & released my expectations of this world.
This door is a different color than I would have picked. The handle is a little funkier than I would prefer it to be, and it leads to a space unlike anything I would have imagined for myself.
Moments & gifts from God don’t always come in the form that we believe would be best.
What He gives us is always perfect though, it’s exactly what we need. It molds our minds and our hearts to prepare us for what we are called to each day.
I can dream up a door, a house, a job, a future child…but none of my own creations or assumptions can come close to the brilliant gifts God ultimately grants.
Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring. Proverbs 27 : 1
Don’t assume you know the color of your future front door…God might have a different shade in mind.
Beautiful writing Katrina and thought provoking. We just need to keep that straight path God has laid out for us.
Thank you.
