Kellye Schiffner Carver said: “When we give for God’s kingdom, we simply give back what is His.”
I’ve been reminded recently that it’s not just what we give back, it’s how we give back.
We do this with our attitudes, talents, finances, time & energy. But what happens when we give out of obligation, rather than sheer joy?
I’ll tell you what, your Heavenly Father doesn’t really want to see you give at all, if it’s not with great happiness.
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Chorinthians 9:6-7
God loves a cheerful giver.
If you work a job that makes you miserable, just because you feel obligated to use a specific skill you encompass, you’re missing the point! God is crazy about you! He doesn’t want to see you begrudgingly “give back”.
The entire point of giving back, is to spread God’s love as far as we possibly can..how do you plan to spread God’s love if you’re grumpy over what you feel like you have to do? It’s not going to work.
We must learn to view God and giving back to Him, the same way that Buddy the Elf views and serves Santa. Buddy is a cheerful giver, and no one can argue with that.
Find your inner Buddy & stop giving just to give. Give back with great joy, friends!
