Spring has started showing it’s sweeter side with the weather warming up. That little shift of sunshine makes our hearts beat at a smoother pace, encourages us to slow down throughout our day, and sparks a desire to inspire growth.

Springtime & Sunshine & all things good and green just seem to make us love growth.

We chase down new goals and start new books. We find dietary alterations and go for walks instead of curling up on the couch. This influence of growth is a very important time.

So I wanted to share my top 3 growth bible verses with you to encourage you to sprout a few more buds!

1.”Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him.” COLOSSIANS 2:7

This verse does a beautiful job of reminding us to remain grounded in our faith, while being fearless in it as well. God needs us to keep our foundation of roots strong & healthy, so that He can stretch us to magnificent heights .

2. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” JEREMIAH 17: 7- 8

This depiction of our faith base makes me happy; it’s so clear. When you keep yourself planted near the Lord, not only are you going to grow at a tremendous rate, you will never thirst. He will sustain you always, you will never need to fear if you have enough.

3. “Do not despise small beginnings..” ZECHARIAH 4:10

I think sometimes when we get that spark to grow, we expect to wake up the next day a completely changed person. But true growth is slow & steady, and it doesn’t always look like much at the start. Just as a seed doesn’t look like it could do much of anything, but when we give it a good foundation it can provide beauty or sustenance beyond anything we imagined.

God wants to see us grow, He wants to bring us to amazing new heights. It all starts at the base. We need to plant ourselves where we can be fed by all things good, be patient as we wait for our roots to dig into the Earth, and be fearless once we sprout.

Plant your roots, friends!
